A LUNAR ART ADVENTURE: The Bots Lend a Hand to Maggie Lee's Closet

The bots parked their lunar rover outside Maggie Lee's Closet this past weekend to lend a hand. Maggie Lee's Closet is a free children's boutique in The Highland Center that gives youth in need the opportunity to "shop" for a fun outfit. Each child gets a 30-minute session with a Maggieleesta-volunteer who makes each child feel fabulous. The bots contributed to the effort by painting a mural in the boutique.

"For Brandon, Lampton and Kevin to spend a Saturday sprinkling Moonbot Magic over Maggie Lee's Closet was just amazing," said Jinny Henson, the founder of Maggie Lee's Closet. "In five minutes, Brandon had sketched out the entire Eiffel Tower/clothesline scene. I got tears in my eyes, it was so fabulous. Kevin even inserted a picture of Maggie Lee's Chihuahua 'Elle Woods' in his drawing."

In August 2009, Jinny and John Henson lost their daughter, Maggie Lee, due to a traumatic head injury suffered in a bus accident. Each year on October 29th, the Shreveport-Bossier community commits good deeds in her memory.
