Job Title: Story Editor
Job Hours: Full-Time
Reports to: Directors and Partners

Job Summary:

The Story Editor will work closely with Directors to develop and articulate Moonbot stories, scripts, pitches and presentations. This individual will contribute to both the content and presentation of these stories, as advanced treatments and story pages, and will help shape the manner in which these properties are presented to potential producing partners, clients and investors. The Story Editor will participate in meetings and chronicle notes, will organize existing and contribute new materials, and will aid in crafting Moonbot corporate copy and public relations materials. He or she will assist in creative development, including but not limited to books, graphic novels, mobile applications, games, webisodes, and films of varying lengths.

Skills/Abilities/Education:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, Screenwriting, or equivalent degree/work experience
  • References and writing samples are required
  • Superior storytelling and narrative skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to convey story in a simple and compelling manner
  • Flexibility and ability to accept and incorporate direction and revision
  • Self-managed and self-disciplined with the ability to work with directors in shaping the creative momentum of various projects
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects and keep them moving forward on a timely basis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and under the direction of a variety of artists of wide-ranging age and experience
  • Creative thinking with the ability to assist the Moonbot team in developing intellectual property across platforms.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines in a collaborative environment
  • Must be flexible. Moonbot Studios is a growing venture working in cutting-edge and highly creative technologies. As with any mid-size studio, members of the Moonbot team wear multiple hats.   • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States and be willing to relocate to Shreveport, Louisiana
