The bots need your help on our next lunar adventure. Yesterday, we began a 50 day Kickstarter campaign to fund our next video game, The Golem, based on a Jewish folktale that has inspired pop culture phenomena such as Frankenstein and Terminator.
The game is set in the dark and beautiful city of Prague during the early 16th century. Europe has been overtaken by Cesare Borgia, ruler of an evil army determined to exploit the world’s greatest cities, including Prague. Rabbi Loew, the greatest scientist and religious leader in all of Prague, must do something to stop this evil force. In a prayer dream, he has a vision of a giant man made of clay, wood, metal and stone — a Golem.
You will play as this immensely powerful creature. Despite your incredible potential for destruction, this game will be about mastering control of the Golem so that you can protect and not destroy the great city that created you. It will be deeply rewarding when you learn to wield the Golem with not only savage strength but also with delicacy.
In order to make this game available for PC, Mac and Linux, we must raise a minimum of $750,000 through Kickstarter. We hope to raise additional funds to bring the game to other platforms. Funding this game independently is vital to telling the Golem's story in a big, visually rich way.
